Director: Allie Bailey
Role: Dr. Frederick Frankenstein
This award-winning musical based on the 1974 comedy film of the same name, written by Gene Wilder and Mel Brooks. It follows on the heels of Mel Brook’s extraordinarily successful musical, The Producers, with a musical version of this film classic, Young Frankenstein. To translate Brooks’ 1974 black & white parody of the 1930’s horror film to the Broadway stage, castles, laboratories, lightning bolts, and rampaging torch-carrying villagers were recreated. The monster was suited in green, visibly stitched together and did the famous “Puttin’ On The Ritz” number in tie and tails. The score also includes “Together Again”, “Welcome to Transylvania”, and “Join The Family Business”.
